10287 Cameroon GEF 7 IP Project - Integrated Forest Landscape Management of Cameroon in the Congo Basin (CBSLIPCM)

By June 2027, approximately 75% of community organizations benefiting from the GEF 7 IP Cam project will see their financial revenues increase by at least 25% each year through the strengthening of non-timber forest product (NTFP) value chains, while promoting group leadership and sustainable management of forest and wildlife resources in the Ngoyla, Lomié, and Mintom Communes.
Specific Objectives:
- Develop a training and technical assistance plan to strengthen the organizational, technical, and business management capacities of CBOs, while integrating modules on access, use, and benefit-sharing rights of NTFPs.
- Develop and implement a small grant mechanism or other financial solutions to support the operations of local organizations and CBO groups to facilitate NTFP enterprise development.
- Ensure and facilitate access for cooperative groups and Common Initiative Groups (CIGs) to the necessary inputs and equipment to optimize the collection, storage, processing, and marketing of NTFPs.
- Organize exchange visits between CBOs and NTFP enterprises and other well-established CBOs, with exchanges specifically designed for women and youth.
- Support CBOs in participating in NTFP marketing or promotion events, thereby facilitating the establishment of business alliances.
- Organize meetings and provide technical assistance to establish or strengthen Memoranda of Understanding between IPLCs and private sector actors, resource managers, or decentralized local services to integrate the sustainable use of NTFPs into sustainable forest resource management and biodiversity conservation practices.
- Facilitate meetings to build mutually beneficial partnerships between IPLCs and private sector operators and establish Memoranda of Understanding or other forms of agreements with clear benefit-sharing mechanisms that support targeted value chains.
